I totally understand where you are coming from. We have made the decision also that after over 30 years of being owned by ferrets, these will be our last ones. We aee going to be 70 this year and Scout and Powder are about 2, so figuring we will be over 75 when they reach the winter of their years, it will be time to enjoy the ferrets of others.
You don't have to leave , you know you are always welcome here. Come and get the ferret fix when you need it

Thank you huronna, that means alot. I may pop in once in a while. I trued 61 in March and I have had cats and dogs seems like all my life and ferrets since 2002. When I got George I miss that boy. Duke has hardly no hair and he is on predazone 2 cd a day. It is getting hard for him to get around. It is time I didn't have the money for the surger he needed. I feel the squirrels I have one squirrel who only has a half of a tail so I named him Stubby lol . I remember the stories of Stubby. So my Stubby only took one day and he was eating out of my hand. He was gone all winter and he showed back up last month. lol So I have about 7 squirrels that comes and eats peanuts and corn. It is so funny to see them chase eachother off. Butch on little pigs. I bought Duke on more jar of baby food he aite that up. You have had ferrets for a long time. I understand about not getting any more. I know it will be hard on you both. Just like with us. It was fun having them alot of laughs and alot of tears when they go. That I just can not take no more. have a blessed day. Love Sheila

I'm sorry for your loss, and I understand how you feel, too. I've come very close to saying enough loss and heartache, but somehow there always seems to be another fuzzy (or 4) looking for a home.
We've decided that this time, when we get down to 3-4, we''l keep that number as long as we have ferrets. We love al of the ones we have now, but it's a lot of poop and responsibility.
We wish you the best, and we'll be happy to share our ferrets with you.

Sheila I am so sorry for your loss. I understand the heart break that comes with each ferret loss. It hurts so much. We said no more in 2009 when we lost our dear Gracie. I would go to the breeders house everyday after work to hold and play with Gracie until she was old enough to come home. Two weeks after she died when I went to pick up her ashes the girl working there had a ferret that she could not care for. Zoey needed a home and then Zeus our deaf boy needed a home. We are retired now and these will be our last. Zoey is almost blind, she will be 7 this year. Zeus is the baby and he will be 5 in June.

I think a lot of us are in the same boat. We have lovingly cared for this wonderful fuzzies for many years The heartbreak never gets easier and as we get older it hurt more and it starts to get a bit harder to care for them as we did when we were younger. I started in 1984 with ferrets. I was only 39 then, in a few months I turn 70. That's a lot of heart ache and long with tons and tons of laughter and fun. Since Scout and Powder are only about 2, I definitely believe these two will be our last
