Can you believe that March is almost here? Where has the time gone? Just checking to see how everyone fuzzbutts are doing.
Mac is still holding his own. He only has a wee little fuzz left, but is still plump as a piggie. He's still eating and pottying like a champ. And it's so cute to see him get up in the morning and run, well waddle. to the kitchen knowing that Joe is heating up his food. Then he runs back to the bedroom on his special feeding towel and awaits his breakfast or dinner. Scout patiently waits to see if there is anything left in the bowl as a treat for him. Usually not a drop left.
Chris, I hope your school/internship is going well. It will soon be over and well worth all the work you have done.

I've just been waiting till we had some new fuzzy pics to post. Ours are all fine. Still nothing remarkable to show for Jaffa's Lupron shot, except he's not losing more fur. The vet that gave home that shot called last week to check on him. She was hoping to get some des from a fellow vet in Miami but not yet.
Prissy will be 8 in one month.
Internship is going well. Three of us students are pretty much running the place giving time for the case managers to case manage. As poor as I was 4 years ago I've never been homeless and now I'm dealing with them every day. My biggest complaint is that we're not practicing occupational therapy. The only OT training we get is when our instructor is there Monday and Tuesday.
I-4 is still a pain in the a$$. I have a short day Fridays and the traffic is usually better. Last Thursday it rained steadily and it took me 2 1/2 hours to go the 58 miles home. On my night off. Only 2 more weeks of that, then I'll only have an 8 mile commute.

2 more weeks.....a piece of cake, you can do that standing on your head Just think of that 8 mile commute and the sun will rise above your head and shine brightly

Hello all,,
I have new pics of Prissy I took on the 24th.. Her 7 yrs 11month old pics.. but got so frustrated trying to get them off my kindle fire last night I lost interest in uploading them to photobucket to post here.. Prissy is doing amazingly well.. The rest of the bunch are doing great..
We are busy planning our trip to Canada in June.. Our biggest worry has been finding someone to watch the fuzzies,, since Jaffa is so sick and Prissy is sooo old.. I think Chris found a nice lady who has a shelter in the next town over that is willing to take them.. I feel better taking them to someone's house then leaving them here alone at the end of June.. The power goes out frequently here and I fear they would be in a none ac home for hours with no one to check on them.. Plus Jaffa needs closer supervision then twice a day visits since he crashed a few weeks back..
Anywho heading out to work..
Hope everyone else has a good day..

Dar is talking about Furetti Ferrets, who relocated a couple from Colorado to a couple towns over last year. I talked to Cathy on the phone yesterday. She said she'll ferret sit for a donation to SOS. maybe I'll just send her a ferret flyer.

It is so hard to get proper ferret care when one is gone. I used to have a friend come in from Alabama once a year. She would bring her ferrets and stay at my house. It worked well for a couple of years but got more and more difficult. Luckily my vet opened up an exotic hotel section. They are actually big cat enclosures. We rent two adjoining ones and opene the slit between them. We set one up as their habitat and the other as the bathroom. Much bigger than a cage, but not as big as my house of course, but since it's at my own vet's that is a plus also. They are always in great care there Of course it is rather pricey but at least we finally have peace of mind also

Yeah, Heide. Or vet charges $15/day per, and they'd be caged the whole time. I will need to talk to the shelter about details, but she's supposed to be moving in the next month to a bigger place that will have 2 ferret rooms, so it should be good.

Chris I wish you and Dar lived here in Arizona. I would love to watch your fur babies. As you know we are set up for a lot more ferrets than the two we have! I hope it works out well with the shelter.

Believe me Dee, I sure wished we lived closer..lol I told Chris when we decide to lay permanent roots we have to consider our ferret group of friends.. Since they are such a big part of our lives,, we should move where there are more of them and some really good ferret vets.. I like to take the ferrets on holiday with me,, but sometimes its not possible and its such a struggle within oneself to feel free to have fun while you leave them at home.. Especially when some are on meds and are elderly..
We have bought plane tickets one way so far.. So the trip is now set in stone.. Hopefully the shelter lady works out.. I need Jaffa to be ok,, We have a friend flying into Orlando in September from the UK.. She helped me to name Jaffa way back in 2009... She is dying to meet hiim.. Like you Dee she has been with me and Jaffs since I got those first baby pics of him.. I am praying he holds steady and especially through our trip..
