I don't know his name yet, but this little cutie will be joining my home today!  He is about a year old. His daddy lost his job, and his mommy had her hours cut, so they made the unhappy decision to rehome him. The funny thing is, when I texted her about him, she actually knew who I am. She asked if I was the lady who always comes into the pet store and knows a lot about ferrets. Then said if he has to go anywhere, she is happy he is coming to me!! Small town living at it's finest!! :-) lol |

He's home!! They brought him to me just before 3. I was going to do the slow intro thing. I set up the ferret playpen in the living room and everything. Boone and Loki were outside trying to get in, and the new guy was trying to get out. He looked pretty bummed at all the new stuff he couldn't get at to explore. Ferret torture lol. So I just let him out. He did great with Boone and Loki. Lots of playing, no fighting. Everyone else was still sleeping. Since then I have seen Meeko, Rosie, and Diva up. He tried to get Meeko to play, but Meeko just ignored him. Diva seems a little jumpy. Rosie just keeps sniffing his stuff. So far no fighting at all. YAY!! He was born in August, so he is about 8 months old.
I felt really bad for the girl who had him. She was in tears at having to give him away. But I kind of know her from when she worked at the pet store. And she said if he had to go to anybody, she was glad it was me. She was a little worried when she made the decision to rehome him that he would end up in a bad home. But she knows how spoiled my guys are, so that took a huge load off her mind!
He came with the name "Eddie", which I don't really care for. I just don't like "people" names for pets. And I tend to steer away from "common" names as well. Since I got him on the first day of spring, I went to google translate and typed in spring and came up with three I kind of like.
Czech-----Jaro or Jarik (pronounced YAH*ro or YAH*rik)
Swedish---Varen (pronounced VORE*en)
Welsh-----Gwanwyn (pronounced GWAN*win)
I do have some Swede and Welsh in my genetics, and I like the way the Czech sounds. I guess I will just have to wait until he tells me his name.

Hey hey, my Eddie was my bestest buddy for 3 years! He was an awesome outdoor walker. Your new dude is really cute, but he don't look at all like my Eddie. And there will never be another.  |

Smokey.....you had a very handsome Eddie indeed. There is nothing wrong with the name, just not for me.
Hur.....Haven't gotten to the nail trim yet. Wanted to let him settle in a bit. And he doesn't appear to like Tone, so his nail trims could be tricky lol
Got another potential name on my mind. All this boy does is play, play, play. So I'm thinking Hefner, after the most famous playboy of all. LOL

My ex decided on old, classical people names, and Eddie fit him ok. That's how we got Carol, Alice, Moe, etc. Are you thinking Hugh? Or Heff? Heff could work. I could be way off the mark here. And he has a very unique face. He is really handsome. He actually reminds me more of Jaffa, and his face is irresistible at treat time. So stock up! |

Still tossing names around. Got his nails trimmed today. He does NOT like tone, so had to scruff him. So far he has fit right in with everybody. Had a minor dispute with Zoboo this morning. He ended up under the couch screaming at poor Zob, who was just looking at him like "what's your problem?" Of course, Zoboo is my big guy, at around 4 lbs. That much chub pouncing on me would make me a little testy, too LOL They didn't bring any of his food with him, so I am really going to have to watch him and make sure he is eating what I feed. I'm probably going to text her and see what he was on if he don't take to the food here.
Oh, and Hur.....he brings me up to 9!!!!

No tone? drip some on his nose and see it he licks it off.
9 is a good number, lol. We had 9 for a long time. We're getting close to it again, but don't want to get there. 8 is enough
I'm glad he's getting on with the others
